The Order of Merit will be updated at the conclusion of each Tour event. Ryder Cup points are earned via your position on the leaderboard. You can filter the list using the drop down listboxes,to show players of a particular swing type or Ryder Cup team. These standings will be used to determine the players representing the teams in the Ryder Cup at the end of the season. The final Ryder Cup teams will be shown in the column to the right at the end of the season.

Money Earnings Table:

Points are awarded for any player who completes a tournament and sends in all the required files. The Masters, US Open and US PGA Championship, along with the Tour Championship carry double the normal points, while the Open Championship counts for treble points. The World Matchplay will count for one half the normal points. No points are awarded to a player who is disqualified for any reason, including a non-completed event (all 4 rounds).

This years competition will be decided by two teams of 12 players, one representing the USA and one representing the European & World players. There are no plans for swing segregation this year, the numbers are already heavily biased in terms of Powerstroke and Classic swing modes. The top ten ranked players who are still active at the end of the year, and available for online play will be automatically selected to the team. In addition to those ten places, two wild cards will be added to make up the final teams. The nomination of wild cards will be left entirely at the discretion of the team captains, who I will choose at the start of the year. It will be up to the captains to decide on the basis for selecting the wild cards, and they *will* have the option to select themselves as a "playing captain" if they're not already qualified for the team. Swing modes won't be kept apart per se in the Ryder Cup, but the captains will have the opportunity to "mix and match" the games as per the Seve Trophy (captains alternate nominating who to put up against particular opponents on the other team). For the purpose of defining "active" players, I'll consider any player who misses consecutive tournaments to be inactive unless they contact me with a good reason for their absence. I'm hoping that this year's qualification process will be a bit more exciting than last year, when it seemed clear who would be making the team from a very early stage. With less spots available and a limited depth of payouts, there should be a lot of movement on the Order of Merit throughout the season.
