Statis-Pro Football for Windows © Alex Mittermeyer

This is a fantastic program, written by Alex Mittermeyer, which allows you to play Statis-Pro against the computer. No chart reading, or card flipping, the game does everything for you and the colourful display contains everything you need to run and play a game. Alex has been very busy lately, but hopefully he will be back around soon to add some extra features, one of which might be the ability to hook up online with someone else to play the game, which should really encourage the formation of some online leagues. He has three years worth of teams to play, and hopefully we can get all our custom cards converted into his format so that we can have more. I'll be adding a lot more to this page soon, but wanted to get the files and instructions up as many people have been asking about it. There'll be a playing guide and instructions at the bottom when I get time to take some screenshots and do a full review of how it all works. Thanks Alex !

Downloads

Here are the files you need to download

Installation

Unzip the 1st file so that all the files are in the same folder. Then click the setup.exe file to begin installation. There was a problem before in that the file "Setup.LST" was renamed "Setup.LST.txt", so the install routine got stuck, but I renamed the file now so it should be OK. If you do get the message that the installation routine can't find the file "Setup.LST" let me know, as I'll need to fix the zip file. You can manually remove the ".TXT" file if you do have it (if you downloaded it from Yahoo group you might well have the wrong named file).

Anyway, click OK to start install (yes, the instructions are in German). You can change the install folder with the button on the right (just on the same level as the folder name), or cancel with the button at the bottom. When you are happy with your installation target folder, click the button at the top with the PC/monitor icon on it to start the install. You can't install into the same folder where you opened all the zip file to, so if you get an error message when you try to change folder to install into, make sure you're not trying to install into the same folder where you're running the setup.exe from. Hopefully it will now have worked, but you then need to open the 2nd zip file and put the SPFBWin.exe file from there into the folder you installed into. This is a newer, fixed version of the file which you need to use instead of the old one. No need for install, just copy the exe across and overwrite the old one

Now all you need are the team databases, so open the zip files above and put the MDB database files into the same folder you installed the game into. Now you can run the game, and click "open database". Select the season you want (1989,2001 and 2002 are available right now, but I am hoping to work with Alex to get all our custom cards into PC format),and the game will load the season and let you pick the opponents and play a great game of football. I am sure you will absolutely love this great work by Alex, who should be very proud of his work on this.
